| Tutoring Experience: | I am a British female 27 year old with five years’ tutoring experience of the British curriculum. I have tutored over 100 students and adults on a home tutoring one to one basis over the last few years. I only take on short term intensive assignments between one week and two months and live in Jumeirah Triangle. I am a certified member of the International Tutoring Association and have an enhanced CRB check. I am a native English speaker born in the UK and my specialist subjects are English, English as a Foreign Language, Spanish, Psychology and Anthropology. I also teach the IELTS exam and have had 100% success with candidates who have all achieved their desired Band Score. | Tutoring Approach: | Given that my assignments are all short term and intensive, I always begin by doing an assessment of each student before commencing tuition to get an understanding of their current level and objectives. I then devise a tuition schedule which is tailored to the individual consisting of tasks focused on problem areas, extension exercises where necessary and set homework which reinforces anything newly learnt. I conduct regular tests to monitor progress and can set homework upon request to ensure that my students get the most out of each tuition session. I use a variety of methods (visual, audio, kinaesthetic) to keep sessions interesting and motivation levels high. I expect my students to work hard and help them find ways to achieve their academic potential whatever their level or ability. |
