Carlos is a professional flute teacher that teaches the student not only how to play technically, but also what it means to play music. I can really tell that he enjoys teaching and playing the flute and tries to get the student to enjoy playing as well. He is a very flexible and comprehensive teacher, I feel that I learned and will learn many new things from him!
Carlos is a very dedicated with his job. He makes sure my daughter does all that a flute player should be doing. Although my daughter has been learning to play the flute for a year in her school, I don't see much progress. I am sure with Carlos she is going to progress a lot faster. I was looking for a tutor that can be both serious and humorous so my daughter won't feel bored or afraid, and Carlos has those qualities. My daughter looks forward to her flute lessons every week.

I have been a professional musician for 20 years, playing guitar, percussion, drumming. I also run family drum circles using djembe drums in the Middle East, UK and U.S.A. I have been teaching private sessions in drum and percussion for many years as well as worked as a Music Specialist in international schools in Dubai. I have delivered drum sessions for the Autistic Society Dubai as well as Down Syndrome children and a range of other special needs.
Drumming is a powerful tool for developing the inner musical ear of all learners, bringing alive the rhythmic nature of all human beings. It teaches us self discipline, releases the well being chemicals of endorphins into the body, raising self esteem and improving our ability to listen with accuracy. It is a great instrument in itself, but also lends itself easily into the learning of other instruments. If you cannot internalise rhythm, and move with rhythm, you will not be able to play a piano for example with rhythm. Therefore, drumming can be taught in its own right or as a way to remove any rhythmic stumbling blocks in the growing young musician.
I have more than 7 years of experience teaching piano and kid's music in both Persian and English. I am a music teacher at International School ( IB ). In my music class, you will learn the same time theories and play instruments.

How the class is structured depends on the current level of the student. A free assessment will be conducted prior to starting tutoring.
I am of the firm belief that the teacher can only guide the pupil. With any musical instrument, the amount of time dedicated to practice is directly related to the way the student will progress. No matter what level you are, there is always room for improvement.
It is important to gauge each students level and ability, so each class will be tailored for the student.

BA (Hons) Music, MSt. Musicology Oxon., PGCE
I am a UK-trained fully qualified teacher and have been teaching in Dubai since September 2016. I studied Music to Masters level at the University of Oxford before completing a PGCE in Secondary Music Education. I have extensive experience teaching and tutoring at both primary and secondary level, GCSE and A-Level, and Music Theory exams. In addition to my teaching, I am also a trained flautist and singer. I perform regularly with the Emirates Community Symphony Orchestra and the Dubai Wintet.
My approach to tutoring is totally student-focused. In our first session, I will identify your childs needs and areas for development, and ask them about their personal and academic goals. I will then plan and deliver my teaching according to their specific needs, and will monitor their progress closely from session-to-session. I like to use a variety of teaching strategies in order to help your child make maximum progress. These include practical musical activities, music technology, flipped learning, practice exam-style exercises, and modelled learning activities. If you are looking for support with your childs GCSE, AS or A-Level exams, I will use my experience of teaching these qualifications to support your child with the work they are doing in school. This could involve help with homework or coursework assignments, revising a topic already studied in school, or pre-learning a topic that is yet to be studied. Above all, I want to make your child feel as confident as possible when they walk into their music lessons, whilst also ensuring they have as much fun with music as possible!
