I would categorise my style of teaching as versatile. Learners are of several different types, and I strongly believe once a students learning style has been identified, there is no subject matter that they cannot take on and excel in. Patience and regular gentle feedback coupled with regular practice exercises is also part of my teaching routine. My degree heavily focuses on learner theory and that coupled with in class teaching practice has equipped me greatly.
I tend to tailor my lesson plans by determining the current skill level of the student with a diagnostic test in their subject, followed by the time frame of preparation which they have as well as the number of days in the week we shall meet. I love using games, flashcards, art and technology to ensure the students are engaged throughout the lesson. I also conduct regular quizzes to ensure they are benefiting and I report their progress to the parents on request.
