PGCE- Primary Teaching
I qualified from university in the UK with an Upper Second Class Honors (2:1) degree in Primary Teaching. I taught for 3 years in the UK (Y2, 4 and 5), before moving to the UAE (Y5 & 6). I have worked with children of a variety of ranges, academic abilities and needs as well as a variety of different learning styles. This has lead me to be flexible in my teaching approach, responding to the need of the learner with my skill set in order to help children achieve and outperform their potential.
In my lessons, I make them as engaging by using themes, hooks and physical elements. Whilst there's a place for textbooks and worksheets in education, the backbone of learning and academic development comes through experiences of the physical or things that children watch or hear. I ensure these opportunities are in my lessons, focused on the child's individual needs and interests. Math, English, Science or the wider studies - my lessons are fun, exciting and purposeful.

I have been teaching for over 20 years. I have taught all age ranges and all levels from beginners to PhD students. My strengths are my experience and the fact that after teaching for such a long time, I still enjoy my job and am passionate about teaching.
I very much believe in a student-centred approach to teaching. I also believe that lessons should be fun for the student. If the student is not happy, then learning will either be much more difficult or not occur at all. I always plan meticulously for my lessons but am not afraid to deviate from the plan if needs be.
BA Honours and post graduate degree in primary education
I am a very enthusiastic teacher who has been teaching for 6 years in Dubai. I have a passion for teaching young learners and have the ability to motivate and inspire children to maximise their potential.
My tutoring style varies depending on the learner and what they want to achieve. I adapt my teaching style suit their individual needs.
I am able to add two grades of value to a student with weekly sessions that are bespoke to the learner. I have high expectations but I am supportive, approachable and understanding. My particular strength is confidence building through sharing my subject passion for English and Literature. I am a qualified English teacher with fourteen years of experience teaching the British Curriculum. I prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations and am proficient in a number of specifications.
I offer a free 30-minute session where I will review the students' current attainment through looking at their work and assessment grades. I will also set an opening assessment if required. Together with the student, we will set a grade to target and work towards. I then tailor a plan that fits into the time span available - for examination planning, where we are working on a shorter timescale, I will advise how many sessions are require and discuss homework requirements. Sessions involve discussion, modelling and review - giving frequent opportunities for practice. I then use the mark schemes to teach students how to review their own work and therefore become adept at making self-improvements to their submissions without my help. I provide one to one sessions and small group sessions also.

1) How do I plan my lessons? My lessons are planned according to the syllabus of the student's school. Topics are then subdivided into what I feel would be best met in the length of lesson and the prior knowledge the student currently has. I tend to have at least two lesson objectives and two respective outcomes for the student to have achieved by the end of the session. I'm not confined to a lesson plan as students can ask many questions (and rightly so) and sometimes, the lesson may have to take a turn in order to address a student's misconception. I am very flexible in my teaching methods. Once I can see that a misconception is clarified, I proceed with the main body of the session. This will involve a small snapshot of theory, illustrated with diagrams, texts and questioning. My questions are based on 'Blooms Taxonomy'. A scientifically proven way to enhance and engage curiosity across all subjects and well as an excellent way of developing a students' thought process e.g: what, how, why and explain. The session is then ended with a plenary. This is a means for me to assess a student's understanding of the session. I may issue extra home learning to further ensure that the student can apply what has been taught. However, I always keep in mind the home learning that has already been set by the student’s school. 2) What makes my lessons one of a kind? All of my lessons are personalised and based around that student. This is achieved through having an initial introductory session so I can assess the student's prior knowledge and understanding. I also look to see how that student best take in and applies what is being taught. I have mini-plenaries throughout the body of a lesson. This means that I will stop to ask questions in order to assess the understanding as we go along. This is to check that the student is on track. My lessons are engaging, fun and interesting. I can only state that based on the feedback that's been given to me. I can see when a student is disengaged, uninterested and bored. Having spent 15 years of teaching, making observations of colleagues for their performance management reviews etc, those things never go unnoticed by a teacher; so I'm very quick to address these things. - The student will be in a calm, nurturing and supportive environment and hopefully feel safe to ask questions without feeling pressured or anxious.

Lessons will be varied with lots of discussion and chance to fully question the content from all angles. I will make sure exam practice is embedded to ensure the focus of the sessions is on exam success. I am supportive and an excellent motivator with exceptional subject knowledge.

Postgraduate Certificate in Education
Due to prior experience tutoring children in EYFS, KS1 and KS2 I am confident supporting children with their Phonics, English Language, Reading & Writing, Maths, Science and Computing. I am an encouraging and positive teacher and believe that through hard work and perseverance, every child has the ability to succeed. Every child is an individual therefore my tailor made lessons are designed for a that child in mind this allows me to develop strong relationships with children allowing them to achieve their full potential.
To ensure my lessons cater to an individual child, I arrange an initial baseline session where together we ascertain your childs strengths and areas for development. I talk to them in depth about the subjects they find challenging and, in turn, create a personalised plan to support them through their weaknesses. My aim is to ensure that all lessons are both interesting and inspirational; this encourages children to be fully engaged throughout the session in order to reach their full potential. Whilst tutoring, I like children to take responsibility over their own learning and I embed activities which are varied and fun to promote their growth through the lessons.
MSc. in Mathematics (UK), BSc. Mathematics (UK), Diploma in Statistics (UK), PGCE (UK), BSc. Engineering, Chartered Engineer (UK)
My experience has been that one-to-one personal tuition has a unique value to students because of the ability to resolve the student's personal barriers to learning in a way that lays the foundations for a deep and long-lasting understanding of the subject. I am a mathematics teacher with 18 years of experience in classroom teaching and nearly 20 years in one-one private tutoring in the United Kingdom (UK). I have been teaching A Level Maths, A Level Further Maths and GCSE Maths. I also have experience of marking A level exam papers for Edexcel. Outside mainstream teaching I also tutored students privately in preparing for IGCSE, IAS and IAL examinations. I am also developing resources and writing a series of books in maths.
Generally, in tutoring my primary approach is to hear and understand student`s needs in the subject and respond accordingly. Depending on the individual case I use a diagnostic test to identify student’s strengths and weaknesses. I always provide the student with the overview of the subject and what to look out for. I point out common mistakes and misconceptions. I demonstrate good presentation of answers. I work through past papers with the student. Homework is a part and parcel of my tutoring. I consider tutoring as a two way dialogue between the tutor and the student in which the student is able to freely discuss their difficulties and confusions and receive guidance in how to improve their standard. I do not follow a rigid prescriptive approach but use my knowledge and experience to respond appropriately.

B.Sc Honours Degree
I am a fully qualified secondary science teacher, with a first class honours degree in Forensic Science and Chemistry. I am qualified to teach 11-18 year olds and have been teaching for four years. I have tutoring experience of one year and i specialise in KS3 General Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics), KS4 (Chemistry and Biology) and KS5 Chemistry (A-Level and IB). I have also worked as an examiner for AQA GCSE Chemistry for the last 2 years, enabling me to understand requirements of exams. I have a real passion for teaching Science that i believe enables pupils to enjoy the learning experience of private tuition.
An initial diagnostic assessment will be offered in the first session which will enable the students to see their strengths and weaknesses in their subject. They will then be given individual targets that will be monitored throughout the tuition sessions. I prefer to see where students are and use their strength to develop their weaknesses. To this end, I normally offer a diagnostic test for the first lesson and place students according to ability level. Depending on how the pupil works and their performance on assessments the teaching will then be based on the student's individual learning style. In all cases the cost of tuition covers all books and materials the student will use in the course as well as a projected levels for their subject.

Pupils are able to make progress in the lessons and over time through differentiated tasks that suit the spectrum of abilities, needs and learning styles of learners. Throughout my career I have been successful in raising student attainment internationally, and throughout all Key Stages. This is achieved through monitoring and identifying gaps in learning, resulting in implementing effective intervention aimed at students who are at risk of not meeting their targets. Last year I organised study sessions for students and sent personalised homework tasks home in order to build on the skills they were lacking. Providing these extra provisions has often paid off and some of my achievements have been evident in my past GCSE results.

Primary Education BA Hons
When in the UK I would privately tutor a group of 3/4 children during the weekends for the build up to their Maths GCSE's. All children were on the borderline of passing before private tuition but after completing the sessions the children all achieved their targeted goals. These would be 2 hour sessions working through exam style questions with discussion and explaining from the child. I have ran additional clubs at school in the UK and the UAE to build confidence of children in mathematics. I am currently based in year 4 this yteaching year with the majority of my tutoring experience coming in years 3-6
I have two approaches depending on preferences and child. 1. I will work on the topics the child is currently learning in school and develop this by either building confidence in this area or by giving a deeper understanding. 2. I can identify a child's weaknesses and build on these to gain more confidence before tackling other parts of the curriculum. All methods will include lots of children led explanations to build embed the learning and engaging activities and games will also be included.
