No single approach. Generally tutors are needed because the school method isn't working for them, or isn't enough. I try to identify the problem and aim to fix it so that student becomes independent and no longer needs a tutor again. So I try to tailor my approach to the students ... and I generally have the patience and character and insight to be able to do just that. My family emigrated to the UK two generations ago. We are Sudanese originally (can you tell from the picture?) but unfortunately my Arabic is very very weak so I can't really use it in my tutoring.
