Online teaching is not as easy as it may seem. I do not have a degree in professional teaching and yet I was luckily hired as an online and personal tutor back in the Philippines to Korean kids ranging from 7-12 years of age. Being their personal tutor was only for a short period of time (the kids had to return to Korea) however my passion for teaching them did not end there. Thanks to a much improved technology we have in this era called Internet, I was still able to communicate with them.
Online teaching is far different than the traditional method of teaching we are accustomed to. Some would think that confrontational and personal teachings are far more efficient. I beg to disagree. Personally, online teaching and confrontational sessions have the same ultimate goal, and that is to help the student become more comfortable and confident in the subject. By teaching Korean kids before, I realized that a certain tutoring technique applied to student A might not be efficient to student B.
