Early Primary Education First Class BA Hons
I have been a teacher for three years. I studied Early Primary Education in England where I received a First Class BA Hons Degree. I believe it is important to create positive relationships with individuals by ensuring planning and resources are both stimulating and engaging. I am an enthusiastic, caring and passionate teacher. I have worked with children from different cultures, those who have diverse needs and those who have English as an additional language (EAL).
I am responsible for ensuring that children feel happy, safe and receive the best education possible. I have comprehensive knowledge of the National Curriculum along with the Development Matters in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) frameworks. Progression in children's learning is key and I ensure to plan engaging lessons for children as well as upholding high expectations. I believe learning should be fun. I like to create a calm and positive environment to enable this, yet to challenge and question children continuously to make all learning specific to the needs of every child. I believe in developing a positive relationship with my students and their families and I look forward to working with new children.
I have 6 years experience of home tuition. Presently I am teaching a student of Sharjah American School.
I am a very humble and dedicated tutor.
Professional Masters of Education
I have completed my Masters in Education in Ireland and I have three years teaching and tutoring experience. I have also tutored a number of children around Dubai after school. I like to promote discovery learning where the child is encouraged to solve the problems themselves. I always build a good trusting rapport with the child and have complete confidence in them to become higher achievers. improving their independent learning and enhancing their innovation skills.
I sit down with the parent and child and complete a timetable and discuss the child's strengths and weaknesses. I examine the child's school and workbooks and plan accordingly to what the child is covering in school or I can adapt to whatever the parent feels is necessary to tutor. I use my experience as both a teacher and a tutor to plan a mix of lessons, such as worksheets, problem solving, creative writing and completing experiments. I have always seen improvements in the children I have taught. I am hardworking, dedicated and knowledgeable teacher who loves teaching and seeing a child's results improve. As well as this, I always stay beyond the hour to ensure that learning has taken place, if perhaps we are still in the middle of an exercise that needs to be completed.

I was externally moderated by the local authority back in England when I was in year 2 and Foundation stage. This is a valuable experience as it highlights that you are able to teach and get the children to the expected levels for the year group.
I would first need to have a session where I would assess your childs abilities and where their gaps are. I like to make my tutoring sessions practical to keep your child engaged therefore making them eager to learn with me. Once your child has mastered the skills and techniques we would apply them in a more formal way whether this is writing or maths. I use a phonics scheme called Read Write Inc to help with the children reading swell as their reading.

Master's in Education with over 21 years teaching experience
My name is Nancy Wilkins, and I have been teaching for 21 years. The past year, I have been working at Universal American School substitute teaching and offering academic support by working with small groups of children. The previous 5 years were here in the UAE teaching for ADEC where I taught English, Math and Science to Arabic speaking students. I have taught all primary grade levels. I love to see the "Ah-ha moment\" when a student finally grasps a difficult concept. When I had my own tutoring business, I liked to stay in contact with the classroom teacher to know what concepts were being taught and the student's strengths that we could build on. Depending on what the client wants, I can offer academic support and/or homework assistance in any subject. I have my own teaching resources, from manipulatives to books. My goal is to make learning fun for children, so they will be enthusiastic, life-long learners. My tutoring fees are 250aed/hour. If the client wants to set up a long-term package, the fees can be negotiated. I am a 60 year old female who lives in Uptown Mirdif. I can work out of my villa where I have an office with all the resources needed for teaching or I can also come to your home.
Children are each unique and have a different style and rate of learning. For this reason, it is hard to articulate what might be the best approach to each individual student. Students must want tutoring assistance in order to benefit from the services. Education takes a 4-way effort between administration, teachers, students and parents. Each must do their part for the student to be successful. I first start with what a student is doing in school. I don't want to "confuse" children by teaching an entirely different approach. However, some students have a hard time understanding a concept as it is being taught in school and need a fresh way to look at it and benefit from something different and "out of the box." i am there for support and questions, not to simply give the answers.

I am an enthusiastic and approachable teacher. I enjoy teaching and learning and enjoy working with children and seeing children make progress as a result of my teaching. my friendly and caring nature helps me to build trusting and supportive relationships with the children that I work with. I believe in a practical approach of teaching. I try to ensure that this pedagogy is reflected in my planning and teaching. I firmly believe the more enjoyable the experience, the more we learn. I am able to build strong, positive and trusting relationships with children, staff and parents. My personal aim is to continue to promote a love of learning, a curiosity for learning new experiences and instill confidence and self-belief in children so that they become aware that with commitment, ambition and resilience comes personal success. Bacholar of Dance and Physical Education
I have been teaching for five years. I have taught Secondary PE, Year 6, Year 5 and Reception. I trained in Sydney, Australia where I taught for a year before moving to London. I taught Primary and EYFS in London for four years before I moved to Dubai, August 2016. Along side my teaching, I have also tutored for three years working with the British and Australian curriculum.
One of my strengths is my experience across years and countries. I have learnt different approaches to learning and constantly apply these ideas into my practice. Another strength is my flexibility and willingness to always learn and try new things. This extends to my classroom and teaching as well. Often following the lead of the students and adapting my plans to meet their needs and learning style. My teaching style is a facilitator, or activity style. I aim to promote self-learning and help students develop critical thinking skills and retain knowledge that leads to self-actualisation. A benefit of this style is that it trains children to ask questions and helps develop skills to find answers and solutions through exploration.I plan my lessons based on the student's misconceptions and areas for improvement. To do this I would work along side the classroom teacher to ensure there is dialogue. After every lesson, I reflect on my lesson/teaching and identify the areas of strength and the areas of improvement. I reflect on how the student learnt and what can improve to further benefit the learning in the classroom. My lessons are one of a kind because I ensure the student feels safe to learn and eager to learn. I encourage them to make mistakes and take the risk to be challenged. I support them in learning the skills, but I do not do the work for them. I always aim to be positive and bring my passion of teaching and learning to the classroom so that they too can feel encouraged to give their best in the lesson. I get to know the student and their interests, where possible I include their interests into the lesson. For example: I tutored a 4 year boy that loved dinosaurs so when we were exploring addition and subtraction we used dinosaur models I have high standards for my students and I constantly encouraged them to be the best version of themselves and by doing that they can accomplish anything, I believe praise is a power tool in education and use positive reinforcement to let them know how well they are doing. Finally, I am organised and ensure my lessons, homework and marking are all up to date to ensure the student/s are able to get the best out of each lesson and from me.

Tutored member of royal family in Kuwait for 6 months
In Kuwait, I tutored a member of the royal family for approximately 6 months. Initially, the student had a low reading rate. I was able to increase my students rate from 4 words per minute to over 33 words per minute within a couple of months. Also, I helped my student build vocabulary and writing skills in English.
I used a "fun-based" approach to teaching in which younger students will enjoy each tutoring session while learning. With various educational games, I have been able to improve my students' academic ability.
Very flexible in timings. Lots of patience when it comes to teaching. Interactive and fun learning methods.
BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies & PGCE Early Years (3-7 years)
I am a Primary school teacher, trained in the British curriculum. Initially studying Early Childhood Studies, giving me a solid understanding how to enrich a childs learning, I have been teaching for three years, two in Foundation Stage 2 and one in Year 2. During which I have worked with children who have special educational needs plus those who speak English as a second language. I have had regular positive lesson feedback including being filmed and this used as examples of best practice.
I believe in a teaching approach based on each individual childs needs, nurturing their talents to support and guide them through their own individual learning journey. From my theory based undergraduate degree and through classroom teaching I understand how important it is for learning to be hands on, relevant to real life and exciting, as this is truly when children learn best. All children can succeed and when these things are present there is no limit on how far children can go. Lessons provide achievable challenge through differentiation, inquiry and questioning and I can tutor in practical activities for phonics, maths as well as fine-motor activities and assisting in vocabulary extension. Parents play a key role in a childs learning and development and I can work with you to ensure you can support your child by understanding teaching approaches used in schools, what your child is learning and where we can both take them next. I am incredibly passionate about educating children and nothing gives me a greater sense of pride and satisfaction than when a child achieves their potential.
