Priyanka Mallick, a Hindustani Classical vocalist belongs to one of the oldest tradition of music family “DARBHANGA GHARANA”, which is older more than 450 Years. She has been groomed under the tutelage of her father & guru Pt. Prem Kumar Mallick & Dhrupad Legend Pt. Vidur Mallick. As a professional musician she has given her performance at many international & national repute like Stimmen world music festival,Switzerland-2005,International Theater De La Ville music festival, Paris 2009, TFF Rudolstadt World music festival, Germany -2011, WDR3 Music Festival, Bielefeld-2012 & other festivals in India,UK, Austria, Finland, Italy etc She is “A” Grade artist of All India Radio & Doordarshan in Hindustani Vocal & her vocal recital has been broadcasted over AIR time to time since 2009. Her recoded albums are available in the national and international market featuring her solo recitals. One of her solo track is also featured with Legend Begum Akhtar in the CD album produced from Germany called "Die Klänge des Weltensammlers" by Ilija Trojanow. Her latest recorded album “SWARANJALI” is available in Indian market produced by Bihan msic India Company. Priyanka has successfully conducted several music workshops at various universities & institutions including Wiemar University, Berlin University, center for world music ( CWM) Hildesheim, Germany to name a few. She has given her first performance at Barin Das Sangeet Festival, India at the age of 6 only. She has a Strong improvising ability in rendering Taans and sargams/ Aakar taans in Khayal. Specialty in Semi Classical Music - Thumri /Dadra having expressive style in Purav Ang thumari. Also one of the rare Tappa singer in young generation having command on delivering melodious Bhajans.
