PGCE in primary education
I study my PGCE in Liverpool, United Kingdom in primary education. I have experience teaching within an early years environment, KS1 and KS2 having taught FS1, year 1, year 2 and year 6. I have previous experience preparing children for SATs exams in English and Maths in England for both year 2 and year 6 which focuses on the new British curriculum. Having taught in FS1 has also given me in depth knowledge of dealing with children who have minimal English and need to focus on phonics training.
I plan lessons and tutoring plans around the learning needs and learning objectives of each individual child. I ensure that I try to engage children by making learning as fun and interesting as possible and relating it to the daily challenges and situations allow a more in depth understanding. During tutoring lessons I start with a mental warm up, cover specific objectives and end with a recap of the learning.
I am born and bred in the UK and have lived in London for most of my life. I have taught English and Maths to children from ages 3-16 years and have experience teaching all areas of English - spelling, grammar and punctuation, writing skills, comprehension skills, reading fluency and phonics. I have experience teaching children with learning challenges (including children who are on the Spectrum) and I am able to adapt my learning strategies accordingly.
My lessons are one of a kind because I believe each child is one of a kind. I always strive to get to know my students and find out what works best for them. I do try to make my lessons fun, particularly for younger students. I don't believe in being forceful or overly strict, as I believe children respond better to positive reinforcement and kindness. My first session will involve an assessment; this will vary depending on what your child needs help with.
PGCE Primary and TESOL
I am an experienced Primary School Teacher, qualified for 5 years. Prior to this, I was an English language teacher in Corsica (France) following my achievement in a Cambridge Trinity Certificate Qualification TESOL (Teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages). I am a passionate, enthusiastic and hard-working teacher, planning for and managing a child-centred classroom. Further to this, I have experience with the IELTS and tutoring adults, supporting language and testing skills.
I believe learners need to see information in wider contexts and have opportunities to broaden understanding and enthusiasm. With children, I work to ensure there are a variety of creative and structured opportunities to practise learning. With adults, I ensure that key tips and vocabulary support success. I have high expectations, and will encourage all to achieve the best that they can - it is especially vital for children to have a strong sense of pride and ownership of their learning.
I have been teaching Maths, Science, Accounts, Economics, Informatics Practices and English for over 4 years.
My lessons are pre-planned and I always teach logically so that the student understands instead of memorizing.
She is one of the best teachers. I came to her 1 week before my exams and I literally was gonna fail but she gave me extra hours every day the whole week and got my grades up.
She taught me for 2 years in Warsan and she understood me and my doubts very well. She always focused on understanding of the topic and I like that about her. She was always very kind and gave me extra time when I needed it. If I was late, she would still try to give me a full hour even though she had other batches.
She's a good teacher and helped me a lot.
