I have been teaching for 24 years (1997 - Present) in technical schools in Lebanon.
The specializations I teach are: “Business computing” and “Accounting”. The courses I give are: C programming language, algorithms and data structures, and MS Office (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). In my 24 years of teaching experience, one thing I have learned is how to make any idea or skill, no matter how difficult, accessible to the student.
I use a mix of two teaching styles: Mainly the directing style: I tell my students what to do and how to do it. I impart information via lessons and presentations. Students gain information by listening, taking notes, and practicing what I tell them to do. Sometimes I use the discussing style which promotes learning through interaction. I guide discussions with my students and encourage them to find the answer themselves.
Experience
I already have some teaching experiences, at the collage I used to be a monitor from same classes and for one class in my master I was assistant professor with different duties like elaborated some presentations for the class and some occasions explained all the topic that we saw. For me it's essential know the weakness from my students for be able to teach in a way that they are able to understand the topic. Furthermore I'm very passionate for teaching and transmit my knowledge to someone else
My lessons depend on the kind of my student, but the most of time I usually try to explain deeper the topic, showing the essential and most useful things. For my lessons I make some presentations and different activities to learn in an easier and be more interactive, also I do a reinforcement at the beginning and the end of the lesson
