Tutor's Profile

I have 10 years tutoring experience in a range of settings. I have successfully tutored children individually and in groups. I strive to bring the best out of all my students.  My teaching style is one that is fun, engaging and encourages children by nurturing their intrinsic motivation to learn. I am firm but fair and always motivate my students to give their best efforts. My expertise and experience will ensure that I maximise children's performance in assessments. I have experience of the American, British and IB curriculums. This allows me to quickly identify the needs of the student in the particular area they require assistance.

My professional approach ensures assessment of the child's prior knowledge of a topic before teaching a topic. I am committed to tailoring a tutoring program to suit a particular child's needs. I am flexible in my approach and ensure that relevant goals are set for each segment of work. My lessons are planned with knowledge garnered from assessment of the child's prior knowledge in an area. This knowledge is then built on to ensure steady improvement. Assessment is key to ensure consolidation of knowledge.
