Tutor's Profile

I have over 8 years of teaching experience in a Primary School environment and over 15 years of experience of working alongside children in other settings (Including but not limited to childminder, gymnastics coach and Mencap volunteer). I am a hardworking, committed and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about teaching. 

I am highly motivated to the ongoing development of my range of skills and knowledge, constantly seeking out challenges and opportunities, which will develop me not only as a professional but as an individual. I am currently studying for my Level 2 Diploma in Special Education Needs and am also completing my Professional Certification in Sensory Enrichment Therapy™. I am a fully qualified yoga instructor for children and have completed a course in Child Nutrition and Cooking through Stanford University. In order to further pursue this interest I am completing my Diploma in Sports Nutrition. 

I have obtained a certification in SEN and Managing ADHD and have enjoyed working with children who have exhibited a variety of different educational needs, including ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder and Down Syndrome. I am extremely flexible in my teaching style, having worked with children in every year group from FS1 to Year 6.

I am very flexible with my teaching because children learn in a variety of ways, it all depends on the learning style of the individual. The curriculum can be accessed in ways that are appropriate to the child, whether it be listening, speaking, writing, acting out, arts, design and technology or a combination of these, as is normally the case!
