Tutor's Profile

I have 10 years tutoring experience and I am qualified to teach children from age 3- 11 years. I have over 20 years of teaching experience in the UK and Dubai. I am currently teaching at one of the top schools in Dubai and I have taught here for five years. My main subject area is English and I have excellent strengths in teaching this including phonics and storytelling strategies. I also have strengths in supporting children with English as an additional and early years math strategies.

I start with getting to know the strengths of a child, what they already know, what their interests are to establish the best starting point in which to go forward. Targets are then set to outline what the child needs to achieve in order to reach the desired goal. I plan for practical experience as this helps to embed learning more deeply. I assess the progress a child is making frequently in order to maximise learning potential. I ensure a positive relationship is established from the outset.
