Faculties

Shruthi Devidharan (Program Manager & Lecturer)

Shruthi holds a postgraduate degree with dual specialisation in Human Resource Management and Information Systems. A dual specialisation in Human Resource and System combined with a computer engineering degree equips her to handle both business and technical subjects at ease.
Her research interests include performance management, training and development and work-life balance issues. She possess an extensive experience in handling courses of Pearson Levels 4, 5 and 7 in Business Stream. Additionally, she has a rich experience in internal assessment and verification of the Pearson programme assessment of Level 4, 5 and 7er for Edexcel. She has been updating herself with the Pearson Training Workshops for teachers delivering BTEC qualifications.
As a business analyst for upstream oil & gas logistics software she has worked with top energy companies like Royal Dutch Shell, Chevron and Conoco Philips. Thus, gaining a unique perspective into the work practices and interactions at an international level. It also gives her an edge in customer service oriented subjects. Train the trainer workshop conducted by Royal Dutch Shell proved to be a turning point in her role as training coordinator for her project team and clients.

Pearson UK BTEC Extended Diploma in Strategic Management & Leadership @ AL ZAEEM  (KHDA Approved Institute)

The Extended Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership (EDSML) is an advanced program specifically meant for those who have already gained a recognized diploma or degree and who now wish to study a course that prepares them for a senior role in a management position. The emphasis during the course is on those aspects, which are essential for effective managerial functions within commercial or non-commercial organizations.

The program is designed to allow the student to complete it in as little as 10 – 12 months of classroom study part time. The student can complete the program at a pace decided between themselves and the student counsellor. Learners may take individual units of the qualification which can be certificated by a Certificate of Achievement.

Certification: On successfully completing the program, students will receive the Level 7 Extended Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership by Edexcel.

Course Description

Kalamkari is a type of fabric art work either hand painted or block printed. Origins of this art can be traced back to India and Iran. The name “Kalamkari’ comes from the Persian term for Pen (Kalam) and Craftsmanship (Kari). In Indian there are two distinct styles of Kalamkari- the Srikalahasti Style and the Machilipatnam Style. The Srikalahasti style is completely hand worked whereas the Macilipatnam style has Persian influences due to Mughal patronage of the art.

In this course the learner will learn the technique of making the Kalam using traditional materials. Learners will be familiarized with the various steps used in traditional Kalamkari painting. Learners will learn to mix and produce colours required. They will be taught to create compositions using traditional Kalamkari motifs. Born in Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu, India, classical Thanjavur Painting is characterized by vivid colours, simple composition, gold foil and gesso based work. The delicate gold and stone work adds to the intricacies of the art form.

In this course, the learner will learn and apply the board preparation techniques to create a base for their art work. Learners will be instructed on cone preparation, muck making (gesso like), gold leaf handling and Stone work. Learners are required to do extensive cone work as part of their art work creation. Traditional techniques used will be demonstrated and applied.  Learners will be provided guideline on using the Thanjavur techniques to create alternative artworks.

Course Description

Kalamkari is a type of fabric art work either hand painted or block printed. Origins of this art can be traced back to India and Iran. The name “Kalamkari’ comes from the Persian term for Pen (Kalam) and Craftsmanship (Kari). In Indian there are two distinct styles of Kalamkari- the Srikalahasti Style and the Machilipatnam Style. The Srikalahasti style is completely hand worked whereas the Macilipatnam style has Persian influences due to Mughal patronage of the art.

In this course the learner will learn the technique of making the Kalam using traditional materials. Learners will be familiarized with the various steps used in traditional Kalamkari painting. Learners will learn to mix and produce colours required. They will be taught to create compositions using traditional Kalamkari motifs. Art work creation will require learners to apply all the techniques learned in the course.

Course Description

Kerala Mural Painting is an ancient art form done on the walls of palaces, temples and churches of Kerala. The traditional art form uses only natural pigments and vegetable colours. Limited colour palette and unique technique used while painting creates a stunning art work. During the revival of the art artificial pigments and colours have been widely used.

In this course, the learners will learn the unique style of drawing and designs used in Kerala Mural Painting. They will learn the method of natural colour making and mixing. The techniques used in Mural painting will be demonstrated and applied. Art work creation by the learner will incorporate all the techniques and principles learned in the course.
