What is Forex

Another major factor is market depth or liquidity. Forex market has great amount of liquidity as compare to the equity market. The current daily turnover of the Forex market is approximately USD 5 trillion, which is approximately 80 times bigger than the equity market turnover. Forex market is considered as fair because there is no external control by any financial entity. Even central bank’s interference is very rare in Forex market that too is around 2% occasionally for few hours, just to streamline or set the equilibrium between demand and supply. On the other hand if you look at the Equity market, big players are capable enough to influence the prices of the stocks by tens of percentages.

One more big advantage of Forex market is its Macroeconomic nature. Macroeconomic data releases are very easy to monitor and it reaches everyone at the same point of time, so the whole market is updated at once. But in Equity market if you are close to the company management or if you have any source for insider information then definitely one can take advantage of the important or critical information.
