My approach combines a thorough grounding in the subject with a genuine attention to the individual. I find that an initial meeting with student and parent is invaluable in establishing the direction tuition should take. Then I devise a course of study to remedy gaps and build skills and knowledge, tailoring material to the student’s interests. This tends to work best over a series of regular sessions. As we move towards exams, the sessions focus on essay writing and exam technique. My students generally see significant improvement in their work, and sometimes their results are quite spectacular!
