Professional Masters of Education
I have completed my Masters in Education in Ireland and I have three years teaching and tutoring experience. I have also tutored a number of children around Dubai after school. I like to promote discovery learning where the child is encouraged to solve the problems themselves. I always build a good trusting rapport with the child and have complete confidence in them to become higher achievers. improving their independent learning and enhancing their innovation skills.
I sit down with the parent and child and complete a timetable and discuss the child's strengths and weaknesses. I examine the child's school and workbooks and plan accordingly to what the child is covering in school or I can adapt to whatever the parent feels is necessary to tutor. I use my experience as both a teacher and a tutor to plan a mix of lessons, such as worksheets, problem solving, creative writing and completing experiments. I have always seen improvements in the children I have taught. I am hardworking, dedicated and knowledgeable teacher who loves teaching and seeing a child's results improve. As well as this, I always stay beyond the hour to ensure that learning has taken place, if perhaps we are still in the middle of an exercise that needs to be completed.

Bachelor's and Master's in Ele...
Bachelor's and Master's in Electrical Engineering
I am a math and sciences tutor who has been tutoring both professionally and "off-the-cuff" since I was 14 years old. I have a Bachelor's and Master's of Science in Electrical Engineering with a focus in Power System Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and have taken a very heavy STEM curriculum. I am a very detail- and rule-oriented person, which is very critical for navigating the world of the hard sciences.
To me, effective tutoring is the same as effective communication. Whenever I meet with a new student or discuss a new subject, I always make it a point to interview the student and work to understand their perspective. I ask questions like: "What are some of the issues you have with this topic?", "What can I do to help you learn this better?", "Would you learn better if I were to go over the material again, or would you need a different approach to explaining these topics?", and "What are some hobbies or activities you enjoy doing?". By actively understanding their perspective and their needs, a plan of action can be formed. It is very surprising, but in my 15 years of tutoring, I have found that the majority of students actually do not need a fully-structured lesson plan, but just need guidance on their most troublesome topics. There are two teaching methods that I have found to be very effective: Socratic Questioning, and Docendo Discimus (which sounds fancy, but is just Greek for "By Teaching, We Learn"). Socratic Questioning is back-and-forth communication between the tutor and student with an emphasis on engaging the student and putting to light what they do (and do not) understand. This method helps to develop critical thinking not just for the topic of study in question, but to also help promote future self-learning; an extremely valuable skill! Docendo Discimus is getting the student to teach the tutor. Teaching a subject usually requires significant understanding of all the important details and nuances of the topic, and there is no better way to expose any flawed understandings or issues than by seeing the student attempt to explain them!
BSc (Hons) and UK PGCE
I hold a UK Honors Degree in Rocket Science and a UK PGCE for teaching secondary school Physics and Science. My teaching career spans 10 years as a Head of Science and Assistant Head at good to outstanding schools in the UK and the UAE. I am an examiner for Edexcel, the IB and Cambridge examination boards. I also have extensive knowledge of AQA.
I understand that every student has different needs and therefore my lessons are planned individually. I use real world examples, thought provoking questioning and thorough assessment to bring the subject to life and challenge my students to explore and develop their own understanding; Science students cannot score high grades in exams simply by remembering and recalling facts. When students move closer towards exam time, the focus shifts away from learning new information and moves towards examination training. As an examiner, I grade thousands of exam papers from all over the world each year. This puts me in the position to understand what the examiner is looking for and where most students lose marks. Proper examination training enables a student to feel confident and prepared as well as giving them the skills to fully demonstrate their understanding and avoid dropping marks.

Masters Psychology, PGCE Primary Education, First Class Honours BSC Sport and Exercise Science
I am a fully qualified Primary School Teacher with 4 years of teaching experience within the British Curriculum across a range of Primary years. Prior to achieving my qualified teacher status, I studied a Masters in Psychology, with an interest in child cognitive and emotional development. Within my school, I am a subject leader in Enterprise and Innovation, which has allowed me the opportunity to experience new and exciting practices that are being taught in schools worldwide.
Initially, I will do an elicitation of what the child knows in a subject or subject area. This will ensure they make progress, whether they need a bit more support in or a greater challenge in the subject. Then I will plan a series of interactive and engaging activities, which will provide the child with an opportunity to learn meaningfully. This deeper understanding means the children will remember their learning for the long term rather than just recalling it in the short term.
I have completed Engineering and have 2 years experience.
My lessons are planned in according to students needs, strength and weakness. I focus on understanding of the concepts and subsequent practice.
Teaching is my passion and Math is my strength. My focus is to make students learn Math not by rote but by building understanding of concepts. I see so many students not opting for Math when given a choice without realizing that Math is just everywhere. Whichever field a student may opt to work in future will surely need a good knowledge of Math. So, in all my classes, we talk about how we can apply the concept that we are learning in real life. In short, I help your child fall in love with Math.
I believe that an after-school tutor has the flexibility to adapt his teaching style to the needs of the child as we have the luxury to work one-on-one with the student. So, I observe the child and take a few basic tests to understanding the current ability of the child. Then I design my lesson plans accordingly. I make a child do sums across all levels of knowledge. Once the basic concept is mastered, I ensure the child does HOTS questions and shows application of knowledge.
BSc. (Hons), Pharmaceutical Science, PGCE Integrated Masters in Secondary (Chemistry)
I am a fully qualified experienced teacher of Chemistry, with a Bachelor of Science and a PGCE Masters in Chemistry from London, UK. As an educator, I have 3 years’ experience deploying in-depth Chemistry knowledge to students of all abilities at KS3, GCSE and A-Level, at both an outstanding British Academy in the UK and an international British school in Dubai. The skills I possess enable me to effectively differentiate and tailor lessons to meet the evolving needs of every child I tutor.
My approach to teaching is highly personalized and detailed, where I adjust my teaching strategies in response to the pace and depth of student understanding, and focus on bringing out the strengths of my students. My lessons aim to promote greater critical thinking of subject knowledge to ensure each student is confident and possesses deep academic understanding in order to excel in their examinations.

Teacher CACHE 2,3
For the past 7 years I have been working as an Early Years educator in one of the International schools in Dubai, French, Russian language tutor with different learning centers.
I use a variety of instructional methods in my tutoring process. I arrange important notes that are required by the students to prepare their lessons easily.
PhD Mathematics & Finance
My students range from high school to PhD level in NYC, London, Cambridge, (UK) and Johannesburg. In particular I know how to deal with key problem areas. (lack of confidence, memorisation techniques) I have taught calculus, financial math, linear algebra at Columbia University where I got my PhD. Passed all 3 levels of the CFA program (first time) and have experience with helping people triage. I have many years experience in finance which has helped my students with recruitment and interviews.
I find that the right balance of interaction in the sessions is key to understanding. It's important to guide the student and not just do the problem for them - in mathematics either you can solve the problems or not - it does not matter if you can understand a solution if you cannot come up with one. So it's a matter of creating the right environment free of stress to guide the students to competence. I am also happy to prepare the solutions ahead of time (for a few) if the student requires it, but prefer to work through the problems together. Lastly - I have taken math exams all around the world at top tier institutions and succeeded.

M.Sc with Physics, Ph.D in Astro-Physics.
I have had experience tutoring students at high school and university undergraduate level. During my own undergraduate studies in London I provided private tuition in physics, chemistry and maths to high school students studying for the IB and French baccalaureate. As a PhD student at the University of Manchester, I had undergraduate tutoring responsibilities in both maths and physics, helping first-year students with their studies in one of the UK's top science universities.
My primary objective when tutoring a student is not that they eventually answer an exam question correctly. It is that they understand what is being taught. This is important especially in maths and the scientific subjects, where gaining a real understanding of the concepts and reasoning behind scientific ideas will automatically translate into academic success. In order to achieve this I put myself in the student's shoes and work with them in a way that addresses their specific difficulties. I have found that often, being shown how to approach an academic problem from a different angle increases both the student's motivation and comprehension of the subject at hand. Lessons are tailored to the students strengths and weaknesses, reinforcing what the student has already understood to better tackle their difficulties.
