Bachelor of Technology(Education) in Materials and Architectural Technology
I have 8 years experience of highly successful teaching at secondary school level. I am an experienced tutor of IB & A Level Design Technology. I specialise in supporting students with their coursework. I am able to help my students to maximize their potential using personalised learning targeted revision and exam techniques. I am considered to be patient and adaptable and many of my students come to me by recommendation.
I provide a stimulating learning experience in which students can develop to their full potential. I employ a broad range of teaching methods tailored towards individual student needs and to help prepare students for assessments.
David Egan is a highly skilled tutor that can adjust his teaching methods depending on his students learning capabilities and I would really recommend his classes to anyone who’s either struggling with the subject or just need help understanding certain points and one of the things that many people struggle with including myself is how to word their answers on tests since DT requires certain ways of answering questions depending on the topics but after beginning tutoring sessions I started feeling more confident in my answers and achieved higher grades on my tests. He was also able to help me understand the different topics and how things worked, those are only a few of the reasons to recommend him as a tutor.

I evaluate student's needs, strengths and weaknesses and set up a progress plan with them to track their success and understanding. It also allows them to structure their learning path and hold themselves accountable. My goal is to enable student to meet their academic requirements and make progress towards their future academic goals. I focus on teaching foundational conceptual and knowledge, which can automatically translate into student's academic success. This allows student to tackle different problems.
BSc (Hons) and UK PGCE
I hold a UK Honors Degree in Rocket Science and a UK PGCE for teaching secondary school Physics and Science. My teaching career spans 10 years as a Head of Science and Assistant Head at good to outstanding schools in the UK and the UAE. I am an examiner for Edexcel, the IB and Cambridge examination boards. I also have extensive knowledge of AQA.
I understand that every student has different needs and therefore my lessons are planned individually. I use real world examples, thought provoking questioning and thorough assessment to bring the subject to life and challenge my students to explore and develop their own understanding; Science students cannot score high grades in exams simply by remembering and recalling facts. When students move closer towards exam time, the focus shifts away from learning new information and moves towards examination training. As an examiner, I grade thousands of exam papers from all over the world each year. This puts me in the position to understand what the examiner is looking for and where most students lose marks. Proper examination training enables a student to feel confident and prepared as well as giving them the skills to fully demonstrate their understanding and avoid dropping marks.

I have taught Mathematics in Grades 10, 11, and 12, to not just a couple of people but rather to a whole class. As for in the university, I was a paid tutor helping other students in all Math courses as I finalized all my mathematics courses within my first two years. I am currently 20 years old which I believe gives me a greater chance of understanding how my students think and would understand certain materials.
Before any tutoring session, I would go through all the topics required to teach, including any slides or books given for the sake of understanding a specific approach to teach. After every lesson taught I prefer to give sample questions to be solved in order to understand a student's weakness. Also, from tutoring students in elementary school, I learned that patience is a must as every person understands in his or her unique way.
Her methods of teaching differ entirely from other teachers with whom I've had terrible experiences. She's very skillful, patient and gets all points across.
Danah is a great tutor as she does not let you go until you fully understand. Which is a big plus, considering some people are afraid of letting their tutors know that there are some things they do not get. But she makes sure you completely understand before ending the session.

Science is totally experimental subject. best approach is to correlate things with real world. Physics is all around us. Lets take an example of acceleration. If i define as it is rate of change of velocity, it may sound bit confusing, but if i say what is the use of accelerated in our bike ? Of course answer from all student will be to increase velocity.

My approach to tutoring will be engaging, challenging and above all I will strive to create an environment which makes the tutee want to push him/herself proactively rather than being "spoon-fed." The result will be that the tutee will enjoy learning, and the progress and benefits will start to become apparent fast. It was through this style of teaching/tutoring that I found my strengths in academia and ultimately successes, therefore I wish to pass this confidence in learning onto the next generation.

Regarding resources I have in several schools and in Irish, UK and International Curriculum's and have gathered a wide range of useful resources the educate and challenge students. As I have a masters in education I use the latest approaches in educational theory and build my learning around how one learns and memories materials on a lifelong learning approach.
Bachelor's and Master's in Electrical Engineering
I am a math and sciences tutor who has been tutoring both professionally and "off-the-cuff" since I was 14 years old. I have a Bachelor's and Master's of Science in Electrical Engineering with a focus in Power System Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and have taken a very heavy STEM curriculum. I am a very detail- and rule-oriented person, which is very critical for navigating the world of the hard sciences.
To me, effective tutoring is the same as effective communication. Whenever I meet with a new student or discuss a new subject, I always make it a point to interview the student and work to understand their perspective. I ask questions like: "What are some of the issues you have with this topic?", "What can I do to help you learn this better?", "Would you learn better if I were to go over the material again, or would you need a different approach to explaining these topics?", and "What are some hobbies or activities you enjoy doing?". By actively understanding their perspective and their needs, a plan of action can be formed. It is very surprising, but in my 15 years of tutoring, I have found that the majority of students actually do not need a fully-structured lesson plan, but just need guidance on their most troublesome topics. There are two teaching methods that I have found to be very effective: Socratic Questioning, and Docendo Discimus (which sounds fancy, but is just Greek for "By Teaching, We Learn"). Socratic Questioning is back-and-forth communication between the tutor and student with an emphasis on engaging the student and putting to light what they do (and do not) understand. This method helps to develop critical thinking not just for the topic of study in question, but to also help promote future self-learning; an extremely valuable skill! Docendo Discimus is getting the student to teach the tutor. Teaching a subject usually requires significant understanding of all the important details and nuances of the topic, and there is no better way to expose any flawed understandings or issues than by seeing the student attempt to explain them!
Professional Masters of Education
I have completed my Masters in Education in Ireland and I have three years teaching and tutoring experience. I have also tutored a number of children around Dubai after school. I like to promote discovery learning where the child is encouraged to solve the problems themselves. I always build a good trusting rapport with the child and have complete confidence in them to become higher achievers. improving their independent learning and enhancing their innovation skills.
I sit down with the parent and child and complete a timetable and discuss the child's strengths and weaknesses. I examine the child's school and workbooks and plan accordingly to what the child is covering in school or I can adapt to whatever the parent feels is necessary to tutor. I use my experience as both a teacher and a tutor to plan a mix of lessons, such as worksheets, problem solving, creative writing and completing experiments. I have always seen improvements in the children I have taught. I am hardworking, dedicated and knowledgeable teacher who loves teaching and seeing a child's results improve. As well as this, I always stay beyond the hour to ensure that learning has taken place, if perhaps we are still in the middle of an exercise that needs to be completed.
